I am very excited to be part of this show. I’ve been a long time fan of Pink Floyd and to have the opportunity to perform The Wall in its entirety will be very satisfying. I was co-musical director of QUT’s 2002 production of The Wall. It was a very rewarding experience in back then and I have no doubt this production will be the same. Planning for this show has been intense, and I intend to remain true to the artistic intent of Pink Floyd’s vision. I believe I have assembled a group of passionate musicians who share the same vision.
The Wall was a very successful album for Pink Floyd and the music lends itself well to a theatrical performance. We will be rehearsing and fine tuning our performance in order to best represent the album in full. Orchestrating the music has been challenging but I am confident our ensemble will contribute to, as well as uphold, the legacy of such a diverse work of music. There is a wide variety of light and shade within the music with a massive use of dynamics. It is important this is maintained in the transition to a theatrical performance. Opportunities like this don’t come around that often but we are ready to embrace all that is The Wall.
